PURPOSE:To improve the quality of a product by disposing a puring spout in proximity to a casting mold in such a manner that the height position at the front end is below the height position of the top surface of an endless belt then supplying continuously a molten metal from the pouring spout to the belt. CONSTITUTION:The endless belt 2 which is forcibly cooled from the inside surface side is put between pulleys 1 and 1 which are disposed apart at the required space provided therebetween. The pouring spout 4 segmented to a tundish part 6 and a spout part 7 is disposed in proximity to the belt 2. The molten metal 8 supplied from a ladle into the tundish part 6 flows into the casting mold formed of the endless belt 2 and dam blocks 3 through the spout part 7 and is delivered together with the belt 2 while solidifying. The range of the spout 4 where the spout faces the belt 2 is set lower than the height position of the top surface of the belt 2 and therefore the disturbance of the molten metal surface during casting is prevented. The quality of the ingot is thus improved. |
