PURPOSE:To enable the thawing of a frozen food without deteriorating the freshness of the food, by furnishing a timer to a controlling circuit to control the temperature of a thermal medium, carrying out the heating operation before the completion of thawing and cooling the thawed food after thawing. CONSTITUTION:A freezing apparatus 8 is attached above the upper edge 1 of a water tank 1. Heat-exchangers 10, 17 are connected to the compressor of the freezing apparatus 8 to enable the reversible cycling operation of the freezing apparatus for the cooling and heating of the thermal medium 26. The controlling circuit for the control of the temperature of the thermal medium is provided with a thawing timer. The thawing of the food is carried out by raising the temperature of the thermal medium according to the rise of the temperature of the food to be thawed. The food can be thawed without deteriorating the freshness of the food, and the freshness can be maintained by keeping the cooled state after thawing. |
