A level-measuring device for liquids in an optically transparent filling tube (5) has at least one sensor which is mounted outside and which consists of a light transmitter (16) and a light receiver (17). Preferably, a plurality of such sensors are arranged one above the other. The light transmitter (16) and the light receiver (17) of each sensor are arranged with respect to one another and in relation to the inside wall (18) of the tube (5) in such a way that the radiation of the light transmitter (16) is directed at an angle differing from a right angle onto the inside wall (18) of the filling tube and if the filling tube (5) is empty, the radiation reflected at the inside wall is received by the light receiver (17). Using a level-measuring device of this type, which can be built from commercial components such as infrared diodes and phototransistors, it is possible to measure the level precisely with very little device-engineering complexity. <IMAGE> |
