PURPOSE:To enhance the storage stability, especially, the stability to heat and light of the titled recording medium, by providing a recording layer containing a specific compound. CONSTITUTION:The compound represented by general formula (1) [wherein Y is a halogen atom, a is an integer of 1-4, R1 and R2 are an 1-5C alkyl group, R3 is an 1-10C alkyl group which may be substituted by a sulfonyl group or a carboxyl group, X<-> is a hydrogen perhalide ion, a p-toluenesulfonic acid ion or an alkyl sulfate ion and, when an intermolecular salt is formed by the charge on R3, X<-> is absent.
