Method of manufacturing mattress frames of sickbeds, consisting of a head part, a central part and a foot part which are interconnected by means of hinges and make possible an inclination and putting up of head part, central part and foot part, the three parts in each case being delimited with a tubular frame, the longitudinal members and the transverse members of which have a flat-round profile at the free ends of the head part and of the foot part and the hinge halves and corner connectors engaging with offset insertion ends in the open ends of the members with the flat-round profile of the tubular frame, the members with the flat-round profile consisting of aluminium and being welded to one another and to the offset insertion ends of the hinge halves consisting of aluminium and of the corner connectors consisting of aluminium by means of inert-gas (IG) welding, with in each case a circumferential weld seam.
