In the side wall (2) of a bucket made essentially of opaque plastic, a viewing window (7) made of transparent plastic and having a measuring scale (8) is arranged. The transparent plastics material has a higher melting point than the opaque plastics material. In order to produce the bucket, the prefabricated viewing window (7) is inserted into the mould cavity of an injection mould and sealing strips (9, 10, 11) formed on the viewing window (7) are encapsulated by injection moulding from four sides. During the shrinking of the bucket on account of its cooling, a reliable seal between the viewing window (7) and the side wall (2) is produced in the region of the sealing strips. <IMAGE>
