PURPOSE:To perform high quality printing by enabling medium dot printing without lowering a paper feed speed, in a dot matrix printer, by performing the feed of paper over a length specific times a dot pitch to perform medium dot printing. CONSTITUTION:When first half printing operation is finished, a printing drive part 8 is stopped and a latter half printing pattern is read from an image buffer 5 to issue an order to a paper feed control part 7. By this method, the feed operation of a length 3/2 the pitch of dot pins, that is, 1/120'' is performed. When the sign of the feed completion of the paper comes from the paper feed control part 7, the latter half printing pattern is sent to the printing drive part 8 to drive the same to perform printing. When the latter half printing operation was stopped, the printing drive part is stopped. By the above mentioned operation, medium dot printing is enabled. Further, the feed accuracy of the paper may be 1/120'' and is as high as 3 times as compared with the accuracy of 1/360'' of a conventional half pitch feed system and a paper feed speed is also increased. |
