PURPOSE:To allow slippage to be decreased by configurating a device in such a way that the slippage is computed on the basis of the position signal from both a material position tracing sensor and an actual position detecting sensor allowing a master speed reference to be corrected. CONSTITUTION:The position of a material 1 from a reference point A is mathematically determined in such a way that pulses generated by a sensor 5 is measured, and then is processed by a material position tracing circuit 6. On the other hand, the tip end of the material 1 is detected by a sensor 7 so as to determine the actual position, and the position is inputted into a slippage measurement circuit 8. In the slippage measurement circuit 8, the resultant from the material position tracing circuit 6 is compared with the actual position 7 allowing the difference between the above said two to be determined as the slippage. This slippage is sent to a speed correction output circuit 10 so as to correct a master speed reference together with motor load current Iln from a motor load current measurement circuit 9. This configuration enables the slippage to be decreased.
