PURPOSE:To stabilize the contact of a magnetic pole film of a main magnetic pole with a recording medium by forming an impedance measuring means for measuring the impedance between holding members for the main magnetic pole and a head driving mechanism for moving the main magnetic pole. CONSTITUTION:To turn the unstable contact of the main magnetic pole 11 with the recording medium 4 quickly to the stable sliding state, at the time of recording or reproducing operation, the impedance between the holding members 11C, 11D for the magnetic pole film is measured by the impedance measuring circuit 13, a signal corresponding to the measured value is generated by a head driving circuit 14 and a motor for the head driving mechanism 12 is driven by the signal to adjust the position of the main magnetic pole 11 roughly. If the main magnetic pole 11 is separated from the recording medium 4, only the electric capacity between the members 11C, 11D is generated, high impedance is measured by the circuit 13 and a signal for driving the motor is outputted from the circuit 14. At the time of operation, the contact of the main magnetic pole with the recording medium can be always stabilized. |
