This invention relates to new fluorescent mono, di- or polyamide of an aminomonocarboxylic acid and a tetrapyrrole containing at least three carboxy groups of the structure:
<Chemistry id="chema01" num="0001"><Image id="ia01" he="26" wi="43" file="IMGA0001.TIF" imgContent="chem" imgFormat="TIFF" inline="no" /></Chemistry>wherein Z is the amino acid residue and X is the tetrapyrrole residue and "n" is an integer from 1 to 4 inclusive. The new compounds are useful for photodiagnosis and/or photo- therapy of tumors.
