<p>The device is formed by a clutch or electromagnetic brake which is adjustable, may be actuated by continuous sliding, provided with a rotor (4) on which there is applied a friction lining (6) of non-magnetizable material and also provided with a disk (5) which may be pressed against the friction lining by a magnetic force. In order to maintain the friction coefficient constant, this device is characterized by the fact that, in operation, the lining (6) projects by a height (h), preferably by 4/100 mm, from the surface of the rotor and operates with a power per surface unit equal to or lower than 0.5 W/cm<s2>s. The active surface (11) of the friction lining (6) has preferably a rugosity depth of less than 4 //cm. Thereby, during the whole life of the device there is obtained a high constant of the friction coefficient and consequently of the transmitted torque.</p> |
