摘要 |
PURPOSE:To obtain a vertical magnetic recording medium which decreases output fluctuation by controlling the surface shape of a vertical magnetic recording medium. CONSTITUTION:Peaks 2 are cut at a certain height H in parallel with the medium surface in the case of considering the roughness as a surface based on the deepest valley as a reference plane, then the peaks higher than H are cut and the cut ends S having the specified area appear at the peaks 2. The medium surface can be cut at the height Hs at which the total area of the cut ends is 1% when the surface obtd. by cutting the medium surface in the part of the deepest valley 1a in parallel with the medium surface is assumed to be 100%. The cutting at 99% and 99.9% area rates is similarly possible, by which the information on the deep recesses of the surface is obtd. The difference in the height between the above-mentioned area rates 99% and 99.9% is made <=100Angstrom in terms of the output fluctuation. The decrease in the output fluctuation of the vertical recording medium is thus made possible.
