<p>PURPOSE:To prevent early consumption of duplicating papers in a specified paper feed part and to leave a surplus time required for supply of the paper, by a method wherein, in a device which selectively feeds papers from automatic paper feed cassettes in plural stages, the device is constituted such that, during continuous copying, the papers are fed, in order, from the cassettes at all stages containing the papers all having the same size. CONSTITUTION:When an empty detecting signal and a duplicating paper size discriminating signal from each paper feed part are inputted to CPU, the CPU performs given computation. Where a double cassette mode is selected, a paper feed cassette is specified to feed papers. It is discriminated whether duplicating of the specified number of duplicating papers is completed, and if not completed, the paper feed cassette is switched to a different paper feed cassette to perform feed of the papers, and duplicating continues. Further, it is discriminated whether duplicating of the specified number of the papers is completed, and when not completed, the cassette is switched to a subsequent cassette. Above operation is repeated to switch, in order, the cassettes to feed the papers. This constitution enables to perform average consumption of the duplicating papers and permits to leave a surplus time for the supply of the papers.</p> |
