PURPOSE:To reduce an automatic analyzing device in total size greatly by arranging numbers of reaction containers corresponding to the number of measurement items and the number of samples to be processed in groups consisting of a constant number of containers. CONSTITUTION:This holder consists of a pipe-shaped column 20 whose upper end part 21 is closed, reaction container holders E1-E5 which are arranged at equal intervals in the long-axis direction of the column 20 and formed in a turret shape, bottomed holding holes 24 which are bored between an outer peripheral wall 26 and the base part 28 of the column 20 at equal intervals in a peripheral direction and hold reaction containers whose measuring light transmission parts are made transparent, and light guide holes 25 which are bored at right angles to the long-axis direction of the holding holes 24 so that one-terminal sides reach the hollow part 27 of the column 20 and the other- terminal sides reach the outer peripheral wall surfaces of the reaction container holders E1-E5. The arrangement intervals of the reaction container holders E1-E5 in the long-axis direction of the column 20 are set without causing any trouble in the dispensing operation of a sample dispensing device C and a reagent dispensing device D by respective pipes.
