<p>A bearing is automatically installed on an engine component of a internal combustion engine, such as a connecting rod, a crankshaft, a cylinder block, or the like. Data indicated on the engine component and identifying the engine component is read and stored. A bearing which matches the engine component is selected from a bearing stocker based on the stored data. The selected bearing is then transferred to an installing robot which installs the bearing on the engine component.</p> |
