The title compds. I [R1=H, lower alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, Phlower alkyl; R2=H, lower alkoxy; R3=H, lower alkanoyl, pyrridyl carbonyl, lower alkoxy carbonyl, etc.!, useful as a heart medicines, were prepd. Thus, a mixt. contg. 14g N-(beta-bromopropionyl)- paminoaniline, 18 g bis(beta-bromoethyl)amine monohydrobromide, and 70 ml methanol was refluxed for 15 hrs. This mixt. was treated with 3.06 g KCO3 and refluxed for 8 hrs. to give 5.3 g N- (betabromopropionyl)-p-piperazinyl aniline [A!. A suspension contg. 2.2 g [A! and 28 g AlCl3 in 50 ml CS2 was refluxed for 4 hrs. to give 0.9 g 6-(1-piperazinyl)-3,4-dihydrocarbostyril-HBr.
