PURPOSE:To uniformize the pressure of a pad and to form the efficient contact state of a tape head by forming a pad holding fittings fixed on the back of a pad member by adhesion or the like and a plate pad spring restricted at its rotating range. CONSTITUTION:When a magnetic head is not loaded, the pad spring is made straight without being bent and a gap between the bad spring 23 and projected part 22c of a hock 22D of the pad holding fitting 22 is zero or negative, so that the pad holding fittings is 22 held by a rotating pivot part 22a and the projected part 22c of the hock 22D and rotation is restricted and united. When projected recording and reproducing heads having different volumes are loaded, the pad spring 23 is bent and deformed like a bow. Since the restriction of the rotating range is removed, the pad holding fittings 22 is rotated around a pivot part in accordance with the projected quantity of respective magnetic heads and actuated so that distances from the center of rotation to respective magnetic heads are made equal.
