<p>Cyclic hexapeptide somatostatin analogs, (I) and (II) [X= (CH2)n or S, n=0,1,2 ; Y=(CH2)m or S, m=0,1,2 ; R1, R2,=lower alkyl, benzyl; R3=3-indolyl methyl; R4=lower alkyl, benzyl; R5=lower alkyl, benzyl! are prepd. from straight chain peptides. The straight chain peptide is synthesized on chloromethyl resin, and then this is treated with reducing agent, and then the protecting group is removed. The title compds repress releasing growth hormone, insulin, glucagon, and decrease secretion of stomach acid.</p> |
