PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of measurement by excluding the data in the abnormal stage form the target of average arithmetic processing. CONSTITUTION:It is assumed that two image pulses are contained in the data in the stage of the specific scanning as shown in the figure (b) (the 2nd scanning in the figure). This phenomenon arises when, for example, foreign matter enters the visual field and is an abnormal state. A plural-pulse detecting circuit 1 outputs the abnormal pulse shown in the figure (g) at the end of scanning when such image pulses are inputted to said circuit. The abnormal pulse is applied via a NOR gate 12 as a reset input (h) to a counter 3. As a result, the counter 3 erases the count value during the scanning period thereof and therefore the count value when >=2 image pulses are inputted to the circuit within one scanning is not applied to an adder circuit 4 and is not included in the dividend in the average arithmetic processing in a CPU15. The CPU15 executed therefore the average arithmetic processing based only on the data obtd. when the normal image pulses are inputted thereto there by calculating the size of the material to be inspected. |
