PURPOSE:To satisfy simultaneously characteristics such as lightweightness, high rigidity and low partial resonance by subjecting a metal-ceramics laminated metallic base body formed with a coating layer on the surface of a bar-shaped metallic medium by spraying thermally the ceramics selected from a alumina, zirconia or titania to a heating treatment at a high temp. CONSTITUTION:Alumina Al2O3 power as ceramics are introduced through an injecting port 12 of a plasma spraying device 11 and a working gas is introduced through a blow port 14 into the device. The alumina is then thermally sprayed onto the surface of a pickup arm base body 14 consisting of titanium foil by the plasma spraying device, by which the alumina coating layer is formed on said surface. The pickup arm base body is rotated in this stage so that the alumina sprayed to the base body 15 surface sticks uniformly thereto. The pickup arm 17 of the resulted lamination construction is put into a vacuum heat treatment furnace 18 where the arm is subjected to the heating treatment at the high temp.
