PURPOSE:To judge at a sight which part of the original picture is enlarged by writing the contracted picture with the enlarged area frame into the suitable position of the enlarged picture and making it into the enlarged picture for display. CONSTITUTION:A keyboard 11 is operated, an original picture 1 stored at a magnetic disk 13 is called out, one part 2 is designated as the enlurging range, and enlarged picture 3 is formed, and the data of the enlarged picture 3 are written into a picture data memory 14. A contracted picture 4 of the original picture 1 is formed, an enlarging range frame 5 equivalent to the enlarged ratio is written into the position corresponding to the part 2, a contracted picture 4' with the enlarging area frame 5 is made and stored in the magnetic disk 13. The data of the contracted picture 4' are written at the suitable position of the enlarged picture 3, an enlarged picture 6 for display is made and displayed through an image memory 26 to a picture displaying device 15. A printer part 10 writes and displays the enlarged picture 6 for display prepared by a control computer 9 to the media of the film, etc.
