<p>The aid has a flexible resilient pad with two electrical connections. A device produces a signal between the electrical connections which is indicative of the pressure applied to the pad. The aid may be in the form of a switch which is open when no pressure is applied to the pad. The two contacts are contained within a flexible insulating housing and separated by layers of resilient material. Alternatively, the pad may be used as a pressure sensitive pad. The two contacts are contained in the flexible housing with a third resilient flexible layer between them. When compressed a change-in voltage is produced between the two electrical connections.</p> |
