PURPOSE:To obtain a melt-moldable polyether-amide-imide having solubility in a solvent and excellent heat resistance, by reacting a phenoxydiamine and m-phenylenediamine with phthaloyl chloride and a tetracarboxylic dianhydride and cyclizing the product. CONSTITUTION:At least either a phenoxydiamine of formula I or a m- phenylenediamine of formula II is reacted with phthaloyl chloride of formula III and a tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride of formula IV in the presence of a solvent and the product is cyclized to obtain the purpose polyether-amide-imide having a main chain of the structure of formula V. In the formulas, Ar' is a bivalent aryl, alkyl or the like, Ar is a tetravalent aryl, m>=1, n>=1, X is 1-1,000 and R<1> and R<2> are each formula VI, VII or the like and at least either of R<1> and R<2> represents formula VI.
