PURPOSE:To change the thickness of a display line corresponding to the pen pressure of a input pen tip by providing a mechanism detecting the movement of pin chip in 3 stages. CONSTITUTION:In applying coordinate input while the pin tip 6 of an input pen 5 is depressed onto an digitizer 7, the pen tip 6 is moved in the inside of the pen in response to the pressing force. Since switches 1, 2 are provided in the pen along a moving direction, the switch 1 is turned on with pen-up, when the pen is depressed strongly, the switch 2 is turned on and when the pen is deprssed weakely, both the switches 1, 2 are turned off. Thus, when both the switches 1, 2 are turned off, a fine line is drawn and when the switch 2 is turned on, a thick line is drawn by activating a data processing circuit 9 and the result is outputted to a picture memory 10.
