PURPOSE:To keep the deformation of a glass sheet to a minimum in the heat treatment by vertically supporting the glass sheet to be heat-treated above the center of gravity with a boat component member. CONSTITUTION:A boat is used for setting a material to be heat-treated such as glass which deforms at high temp. The lower end side of the glass 13 to be treated is supported by boat component members 9 and 10 among the members 9, 10, 11 and 14 and the right and the left side of the glass 13 are supported by the members 11 and 14. Moreover, the distance (d) between the members 9 and 10 and the members 11 and 14 is made longer than the distance (c) between the members 11 and 14 and the upper end of the glass sheet 13. Consequently, the glass sheet 13 is supported by the members 11 and 14 above the center of gravity, the deformation of the glass sheet 13 such as cambering is prevented.
