PURPOSE:To decrease the time until print is started after print data corresponding to one page are stored in a page buffer by detecting the input start of a code data, starting a print mechanism and starting the print after the measurement of a prescribed time is finished. CONSTITUTION:When a detection/count section 27 uses an interface control section 21 so as to detect the reception start of a code data from a host device 1, a start signal generating section 26 starts the print mechanism section 24, the counter function in the section 27 starts counting and counts the preset count. The print mechanism section 24 drives idly the internal photosensitive drum while the counter function of the section 27 keeps the count. A discrimination detection section 25 discriminates a detection signal representing that the print data corresponding to one page is stored in the page buffer and a count end signal for the counter function in the section 27 and sends a prescribed signal to an output control section 23. The output control section 23 uses the signal to control the print to transfer the print mechanism.
