The mechanism for introducing a drilling tube (60), cable or pipeline etc. into the ground at an acute angle comprises a frame (1) supporting a cylinder actuator (44, piston rod 48) to move the tube (60) or the like axially. This frame forms the chassis of a road vehicle with wheel sets (4) and/or endless track units at least near its end. The chassis carries a support (7) which is suspended (14-17; 20-22) below it and is movable in vertical direction relative thereto by actuators (11;20) between a retracted transport position and a position placed on the ground wherein the actuators (20) permit adjusting (and then locking 23-28) the inclination of the chassis.
