PURPOSE:To simplify the mode selecting mechanism of a tape loading device, and to eliminate the necessity of an exclusively used power mechanism, and reduce the cost, by setting a selecting plate equipped with a cam section on a loading ring to a sliding-free condition and selectively driving both of the selecting plate and loading ring by a ring driving means. CONSTITUTION:A selecting plate 13 slides on a loading ring 2 under the guidance of a long hole 15 and pin 15 and the selecting plate 13 and loading ring 2 are driven by a driving gear 10. The roller 49 of a pintch pressure-contacting lever 44 moves on the curved surface 24 of the cam section 21 of the selecting plate 13 under a contected condition and the roller 54 of an interlocking lever 55 for tension regulation moves on the curved surfaces 23 and 22 of the cam section 21 under a contacted condition, and then, the projected piece 34 of a main brake lever 28 is contacted with a notch 20. It is possible to rotationally drive one of or both of the ring 2 and selecting plate 13 by means of the ring driving gear 10 and to operate a prescribed mode selecting means engaged with the curved surface and cam section. Therefore, the mode selecting mechanism can be simplified and the necessity of an exclusively used power mechanism is eliminated. As a result, the cost can be reduced.
