PURPOSE:To recover metallic copper, ferric copper and hydrochloric acid efficiently by supplying a waste copper liquid contg. hydrochloric acid into the anode chamber of an electrolytic cell segmented with a cation exchange membrane and supplying an anode chamber electrolyte, hydrochloric acid or waste copper liquid contg. hydrochloric acid, etc., into a cathode chamber and electrolyzing these liquids. CONSTITUTION:The waste hydrochloric acid contg. copper such as waste ethcing soln. for a printed wiring board is supplied into the anode chamber of the electrolytic cell segmented by the cation exchange membrane having a strongly acidic ion exchange group. At least one kind among the anolyte, hydrochloric acid or copper contg. waste hydrochloric acid soln. in which a slight content of copper remains after an electrolytic treatment is supplied into the cathode chamber and is electrolyzed. The anode formed by coating a platinum group metal on the surface of Ti is used and Cu, Ti or Ni is used for the cathode. Metallic Cu is deposited on the cathode and gaseous C4l is generated at anode and recovered. The whole or part of the electrolyte in the anode chamber is fed to a stage for recovering the remaining ferric copper, by which the ferric copper is effectively utilized. |
