PURPOSE:To dispense with a complicated operation, by controlling the luminous intensity of alight source so that the sum of signals from the opposite ends of a position detecting element be fixed in a rotational angle detecting apparatus of an optical type. CONSTITUTION:The apparatus is provided with a light source 1, a rotatable disk 2 wherein a zone transmitting a light from the light source 1 is formed, and a one-dimensional position detecting element 3 which receives the light transmitted through the zone and delivers an electric signal. Amplifiers 14 and 15 receive position signals I1 and I2 from the opposite ends of the detecting element 3 and amplify them. Then, amplified outputs are added up by an adder 16 and supplied to an amplifier 17. The amplifier 17 controls the luminous intensity of the light source 1 so that the supplied sum be fixed constantly. According to this constitution, division becomes unnecessary. Accordingly, a rotational angle can be detected without a complicated operation. |
