NEW MATERIAL:Monoazo compounds of formula I, wherein R<1> is 1-4 C alkyl which may be substituted with 1-4 C alkoxy, allyloxy or phenoxy; R<2> and R<3> are each H, alkoxy alkoxy, 1-4C alkoxy, allyloxy, acetoxy, propionyloxy, 1-4 C alkyl, etc. ; X is Cl, Br, such as compds. of formulas II and III. USE:Dyes which dye hydrophobic fibers such as polyester fibers with excellent fastness by resist discharge printing. PREPARATION:5-Nitro-2-aminothiazole is diazotized and then coupled with an aniline derivative of formula IV to obtain the monoazo compd. of formula I.
