PURPOSE:To enhance the safety of an ozone generator, by mounting a means for stopping the supply of a current to an ozone generation means for a predetermined time before entering an ON-time when the intermittent operation of the supply of a current is newly started. CONSTITUTION:At the ON-time of a power source 6, the supply of a current to an ozone generator 1 is stopped only for a stop time TD in a step 101. Next, the supply of a current to the ozone generator 1 is performed for an ozone generating period TON in a step 102 to perform the generation of ozone. Subse quently, the supply of a current to the ozone generator 1 is interrupted for an ozone distincting period TOFF (e.g., 1hr) in a step 103 to distinct ozone 10. On and after, as far as the power source 6 is succeedingly turned ON, the ozone generator 1 steadily repeats ON/OFF in the steps 102, 103.
