摘要 PURPOSE:To apply proper WB adjustment under various light sources with different luminous distribution characteristic by comparing a mean level of a signal for plural patterns subject to adjustment of white balance with a prescribed level in response to color temperature information of an object and correcting the result. CONSTITUTION:When an object is picked up under a fluorescent light, a color difference signal subject to white balance adjustment with a prescribed degree is outputted from a matrix circuit 106, but since a G signal component in a pickup signal is larger than other R and B signal component, when blanking levels V1, V2 are compared with mean values of color difference signals (R-Y) and (B-Y) outputted from the matrix circuit 106 by comparators 303, 304, the outputs of both the comparators are negative. Thus, an NAND circuit 305 is set, an FET switch 306 is opened, a color difference signal is added with a correction signal formed by a luminance signal YL by adder circuits 307, 308. The color difference signals (R-YL) and (B-YL) subject to proper correction of white balance are obtained by selecting properly the correction signal level.
