PURPOSE:To provide an optical recording medium which is stable to light, heat and moisture, has excellent fastness and can be used with recording light in near infrared and infrared regions, by providing a recording layer comprising a specified phthalocyanine compound on a base. CONSTITUTION:A recording layer comprising phthalocyanine compounds of formulas I and II, wherein MY is a group of a metal or semimetal combined with an element of Group VIB, Pc is a phtalocyanine nucleus, R1 is subst. or unsubst. aliphatic group, alicyclic group, aromatic group or heterocyclic group, R2 is subst. or unsubst. bivalent aliphatic group, alicyclic group, aromatic group or heterocyclic group, each of Y1, Y2 and Y3 is O, S, Se, Te or NT (where T is hydrogen, alkyl or aryl), X is hydrogen or halogen, n is an integer of 1-16, l is an integer of 1-8, and m is an integer of 0-14, is provided on a base. |
