PURPOSE:To produce the aminium salt of N,N,N',N'-tetrakis(p-dialkylamino phenyl)-p-phenylenediamine by electrolytically oxidizing a specified amine in the presence of hexafluoroantimonic acid or perchloric acid in a polar org. solvent in an electrolytic cell provided with a diaphragm. CONSTITUTION:A compound represented by formula I (where each of R1-R8 is alkyl) is electrolytically oxidized in the presence of hexafluoroantimonic acid or perchloric acid in a polar org. solvent such as methanol, ethanol, butanol, propanol or other alcohol, acetone or other ketone at 0-50 deg.C temp. of the electrolytic soln. and 5-100mA/cm<2> current density in an electrolytic cell provided with asbestos, a clay plate or the like as a diaphragm, an anode of C, Pt or the like and a cathode of Pt, Ag, Pb or the like to produce the aminium salt of N,N,N',N'-tetrakis(p-dialkylaminophenyl)-p-phenylenediamine represented by formula II (where A is SbF6<-> or ClO4<->, and R1-R8 are R1-R8 in the formula I, respectively).
