PURPOSE:To prevent possible chain crush accidents or the like, by arranging a distance measuring means for detecting an improper distance between a preceding vehicle and the own vehicle utilizing an ultrasonic wave and a light emitting means for informing the following vehicle that the car-to-car distance is below a fixed value. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic pulse transmitted from a transmitter 1 is reflected on a preceding vehicle 12 to be received with a receiver 2 and a signal is outputted from an AND circuit 7 when the distance between the vehicle 12 and a cut in vehicle 11 is shorter than a proper value, provided that this signal is outputted repeatedly each time a timer 8 is triggered while the distance between the vehicles 11 and 12 is not proper. As a result, the signal of a logical level 1 is continued to be outputted from a one-shot multivibrator circuit 9 and according to this, a lamp of an external display 3 is lighted continually with a driving circuit 10. Thus, a red belt luminous display is done with a display 3 on the rear surface of the cut in vehicle 11 and this permits the following vehicles 12... to recognize the presence of the cut in vehicle thereby arousing a caution about the subsequent driving operation. |
