PURPOSE:To enable the extensive automation of highly accurate counting, by setting a basis of weighing on the low weighing load cell side of a highly accu rate weighing region of a multirange load cell, and by conducting switching over to a counting balance by means of a switching key, so as to utilize a highly accurate and extensive range of weighing of a multirange type. CONSTITUTION:In a multirange load cell, first a small number of substances to be weighed which are of low load and of the same kind are weighed by a low weighing load cell 16 of a highly accurate weighing region, so as to find an average value per one substance and thereby to determine a basic value. Next, switching is made by means of a switching key 33, and a value obtained by weighing a large number of substances by means of a high weighing load cell 9 of large load weighing is divided by the basic value so that the number of many weighed substances can be counted precisely. Furthermore, a construction is made so that this process is memorized in CPU27, and thus a balance being capable of conducting highly accurate and extensive weighing and precise counting of a large number of substances of the same weight is obtained.
