PURPOSE:To enhance developed color density, by setting the glass transition point of a binder to be lower than that of a microcapsule wall material. CONSTITUTION:Where microcapsules containing a component capable of a color forming reaction therein and a component capable of reacting the above component to form a color are provided on a base together with a binder to produce a thermal recording material, the glass transition point of the binder is set to be lower than that of a microcapsule wall material. The components are brought into reaction mainly through the microcapsule walls, by heating the reactive substances present in the core of the microcapsules and the exterior of the microcapsules, respectively. Where a polymer of an adduct of xylylene diisocyanate (which is an aliphatic polyisocyanate) and trimethylolpropane with water is used as the microcapsule wall material, the binder material is polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinyl pyrrolidone, a cyclohexylmethyl acrylate/methacrylic acid copolymer or the like. Accordingly, a material having excellent raw preservability and high thermal color forming property can be obtained. |
