In the liquid surface heating system for floors, the heating tubes 12 are arranged and fixed in trough-shaped channels 11 of heat-insulating elements 10, in such a way that they do not project from the upper face of the elements 10 and after the finish layer 17 is applied they are surrounded on all sides by the finish layer 17 which fills the trough-shaped channels 11. The heating tubes 12 are laid in such a way that in their straight sections, in each case in a centred fashion, a return tube is disposed in the same plane, between two forward feed tubes running parallel to one another. <IMAGE>
