The foil is prepared with a pattern of studs and holes so that when rolled into a tube the overlapping edges can be clipped together. The tube provides a grip inside a bored hole for a threaded fastener. The insert also locates in the hole to allow a sealing compound to be applied and set. The stud and hole pattern is divided by grooved lines to aid the bending action.
