The present invention relates to a self-propelled tracked machine (tractor) for muddy terrain, especially for harvesting bivalve molluscs. This self-propelled machine comprising caterpillar tracks each consisting of an endless belt 11 of elastomer fitted on its outer face with spikes (cramp irons) 12 is characterised in that the chain drive wheels 9-10 consist of cylindrical elements, the endless belt bearing on its inner surface two parallel rows 13 of projecting elements, each row of elements interacting with a side flank of the cylindrical elements in order to guide the belt, this tracked machine comprising a front collector 17 whose lower front edge is formed by a ploughshare blade 16 with means 19 acting in the internal volume of the said covering to return the mud through an opening 18 situated at the centre of the collector, a conveyor 23-25 whose front low point is situated in line with the said central opening and a collection container 30 situated at the end of the said conveyor, the walls 17-27-28 of the collector and of the conveyor being at least in part pierced with orifices (perforated).
