PURPOSE:To obtain an inexpensible titled fiber having a high thermal resistance and excellent optical characteristics by providing a core made by curing a liquid epoxy resin, and a clad part made by coating the core with a plastic layer. CONSTITUTION:The epoxy resin 1 contg. an U.V. curing agent is fed to a vessel 2 under a degassed state. The inner pressure of the vessel is always controlled to a constant by means of a pressure controller, and the temperature of the vessel is controlled by a heater 3. These condition are controlled so as to maintain the viscosity of the epoxy resin a constant value by a controller A, thereby enabling to produce the core material 5 having a prescribed diameter of the wire from a tip nozzle 4 of the vessel 2. The uncured core material 5 is measured the wire diameter of the core material 5 with a wire diameter measuring device 6, and the wire diameter of the wire is controlled with the winder 12 and a controller B to maintain the prescribed wire diameter of the wire. And then, the core material 5 is cured for a short period with the U.V. ray curing furnace 7, and then is coated it with a liquid resin 8 suitable for use to a clad material in the coating applicator 9 followed by feeding it to the winder 12 via the curing furnace 10 by means of the capstar 11 to wind up it. |
