PURPOSE:To avoid easy exfoliation of a backing metal from a laminated friction member by adhering the backing metal to the laminated friction member by inorganic adhesive chiefly made from alkaline silicate binder. CONSTITUTION:An inorganic adhesive is sprayed to a surface of a matte-finished backing metal adhered to a laminated friction member. Then, a non-cured material of the friction member obtained by uniformly mixing steel fiber, graphite, BaSO4, Al2O3 and phenol resin is placed on the opposite side surface of the surface sprayed with the nonorganic adhesive to be formed with heat under pressure. Therefore, the backing metal does not exfoliate from the laminated friction member even if the temperature of an adhesive layer increases because the adhesive for adhering the backing metal to the laminated friction member has excellent heat resistance.
