The invention firstly relates to a coded anti-theft device for a motor vehicle in which an electric current is indispensable. The diagram is plate 2/2. It comprises a keyboard on which the code is typed. Typing in the correct order orders closing of the relays A, B, C, D, E placed on a printed circuit, activating a circuit said to be in cascade, leading finally to closing of the relay G which will allow the working current for the operation of the engine to pass. A relay F has the task of cancellation when the typing on the keyboard does not correspond to the code. The act of cutting the contact cancels the code. Among the applications of the invention relating to control of the entry of a current into an electrical apparatus, the subject of main interest is a coded anti-theft device installed on the head of the ignition coil of a motor vehicle, dependent on the memory of the authorised user and not on a key. <IMAGE>
