The centre of the commutator 3a is provided, by the agency of the shaft 4 of the armature, with a washer 14 having a rough surface against which a friable tubular means 13 bears by virtue of the reaction of a spring 15. The means 13 is rigidly attached to a flange (12) against which the springs 11 of the brushes 10 bear.
