The invention relates to a fluidised-bed boiler comprising an enclosure fitted with a refractory inner coating and defining an inner reaction chamber; fuel supply means intended to feed into the chamber particulate materials including a solid fuel; extraction means located in the bottom of the chamber; a plurality of nozzles extending into the chamber from the lower wall of the enclosure and in communication by predetermined groups with a common air intake collector by means of valves; and a plurality of vertical heat exchange tubes 36, 42 which extend into the chamber 18 and which feed a fluid intended to recover the heat produced by combustion in the reaction chamber. Application to all types of installations generating energy by fuels of various types such as coal or coal residues, sawdust, etc., but under the same power, by virtue of the possibility of varying, by modification of the surface and of the height of the fluidised bed, the heat exchange surface between the latter and the tubes. <IMAGE>
