The invention relates to a closure device for the nozzle of a molten-steel ladle. The closure device is intended to be inserted into the nozzle 5 of the seating brick 2 located at the bottom of the ladle 1, masked by a rotary slide valve 6 or another closing system. According to the invention, the device has the form of a cartridge 7 which contains, in its lower part, refractory sand 10, a rupture washer 9, a refractory washer 12 surrounded by silica sand 13 intended for distribution laterally between the cartridge 7 and the nozzle 5.
