PURPOSE:To obtain stable spectrum output by employing rare earth metal oxide as sealant for the end cap of light transmission alumina light emission tube while encapsulating dysprosium halide as light emission material into the light emission tube. CONSTITUTION:Rare earth metal oxide agent in La2O2-SiO2 system is employed as the sealant for the endcap 2 of light transmission alumina light emission tube 1 while dysprosium halide is encapsulated as light emission metal together with mercury and starting rare gas. When encapsulating dysprosium halide having higher affinity to halogen than the rare earth metal oxide in the sealant 3, the spectrum output of the light emission metal can be maintained stably for long term upto the end of service life of the discharge lamp without reacting chemically with the sealant 3. |
