PURPOSE:An antihypertensive that contains, as active ingredient, cellls of Euglena of a protozoa, thus inhibiting the increase in renin activity to keep the elasticity of blood vessel walls and prolinging the life by inhibiting the development of cerebropathies. CONSTITUTION:The objective hypertensive is obtained by using cells of Euglena as an active ingredient. Euglena is classified into both protozoa and euglenida. The cells have pharmacological activity of inhibiting the increase in blood pressure, inhibiting increase in renin activity, inhibiting reduction of elastin in blood vessels and prolonging life and has been found useful as an antihypertensive. The cells of Euglna are obtained by culturing a Euglenida such as Euglena gracilis and collecting the cells. They have extracellular membranes, differing from chlorella, and the cells can be directly used as an antihypertensive. |
