PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of power-on shock, by increasing the engaging pressure of a forward clutch to a predetermined value to release a shift brake when the braking condition of a brake is released under an anticreep control condition. CONSTITUTION:When the braking condition of a brake for controlling the running of a vehicle is released under an anticreep control condition, the engaging pressure of a forward clutch 28 is increased to a value which is established when a forward gear stage is attained, and a shift brake 30 is released. Thereby, when the braking condition of the brake is released, the forward clutch 28 established such a condition that it may transmit a torque, and the shift brake 30 is released to change over the mechanical speed reduction gear into a first gear stage. Therefore, a shift-down is carried out in such a condition that an accelerator pedal is not yet depressed, thereby it is possible to prevent the generation of power-on shock during starting the vehicle. |
